Cuore sportivo, la promesse est dans le slogan de la marque. Alfa Romeo c’est du sport, de l’émotion et en cette année 1984 il faut remplacer les fameux coupés GT Bertone et Alfetta GT. La firme d’Arese présente un élégant 2+2 dessiné par Giugiaro. Ce Fastback reçoit le fameux V6 italien à la sonorité inimitable. Ce bloc équipera toutes les Alfa pendant 25 ans, perpétuant le mythe jusqu’aux années 2000. Aujourd’hui encore, ce coupé représente pour beaucoup l’aboutissement de l’histoire sportive de la marque italienne. Les collectionneurs et amateurs de Youngtimers ne s’y trompent pas et recherchent activement les exemplaires en circulation.

This car is identical to the one I owned. I bought it after I saw the expression on my young son’s face. I have owned Alfas since the early seventies, to the exclusion of all other marques.
It is without a doubt the greatest Alfa I have ever owned and nothing the Company has produced since, has come close to matching it’s legendary qualities. Mine – eventually with a fully balanced engine and Colombo Bariani cams was untouchable. It was a flawed diamond. But, it’s failings could very easily be forgiven, such was the beguiling performance of that 2.5 Busso and the fabulous chassis balance. I would have owned one if it was clothed with orange boxes.
But to combine the genius of Busso with such stunning looks; still to this day, is a remarkable feat. It is for this reason alone, I continue to own Alfa’s, in the hope that one day, they may just emulate what this car achieved. It is « An Alfa » – not a Ferrari, and all the better for it.
