Le Rallye Abidjan – Nice (aussi appelé Rallye Côte d’Ivoire – Côte d’Azur) est l’une des inspirations du futur Paris – Dakar. Ici, motos et voitures s’affrontent pour la victoire finale. La première édition, organisée en 1975-76 par Jean-Claude Bertrand (créateur du Rallye de Côte d’Ivoire), voit un tiers de ses concurrents rallier l’arrivée, et c’est un 4×4 qui gagne. L’année suivante, les « voitures » se rebellent et c’est une R12 qui gagne ! A la quatrième place, on retrouve la Renault 17 de Christian Pouchelon.

The Abidjan – Nice Rally (also called Ivory Coast – French Riviera Rally) is one of the main inspirations for the future Paris – Dakar. Here, motorcycles and cars compete for the final victory. The first edition, organised in 1975-76 by Jean-Claude Bertrand (creator of the Rallye de Côte d’Ivoire), saw a third of its competitors reach the finish, and it was a 4×4 that won. The following year, the “cars” fought back and it was an R12 that won! In fourth place, we find the Renault 17 of Christian Pouchelon.
